1. Acceptance and eligibility

1.1By entering, an entrant accepts these General Rules and the completed campaign Schedule.

1.2The promoter may restrict a particular campaign to persons aged 18+ and to a stated geographic area. Route 420/Travel Club adult campaigns should use an 18+ minimum.

1.3Directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of the promoter and persons directly involved in conducting or independently overseeing the competition may be excluded as required by law and the specific rules.

2. Entry

2.1The entry method and any entry limits must be stated in the Schedule and marketing. The promoter will not require an entrant to pay more than the lawful reasonable cost of transmitting an electronic entry.

2.2Automated, fraudulent, duplicate, manipulated or ineligible entries may be disqualified.

3. Prizes

3.1The prize must be described accurately, including material restrictions, blackout dates, transferability, expiry, travel requirements and what is not included.

3.2A third-party prize remains subject to the supplier's lawful terms. The promoter must not overstate the prize or substitute it unfairly.

3.3No cannabis, THC product or other controlled/regulated product is authorised as a prize under these General Rules. Any proposal to award a cannabis-related product requires separate written legal review of the exact product, supplier and transfer mechanism before marketing or award.

4. Winner selection and independent oversight

4.1The selection must be conducted in the manner stated in the Schedule and overseen/certified by an independent accountant, registered auditor, attorney or advocate where required by the applicable CPA regulations.

4.2The promoter must keep the prescribed competition records for at least three years or any longer period required by law.

5. Winner publicity

5.1A winner may be invited to participate in publicity or allow use of their image, but may decline where the law provides that right. Accepting a prize must not be made conditional on compulsory publicity where that would be unlawful.

5.2Any separate consent to publish a winner's image, name, video or experience should be voluntary, specific and recorded.

6. Travel and experience prizes

6.1Travel, accommodation, transport and activity prizes may carry supplier terms, age/health requirements, insurance needs, waivers, availability and date restrictions. Those terms must be disclosed before acceptance where material.

6.2Unless expressly included, the winner is responsible for incidental costs such as travel to departure points, meals, visas, insurance, parking or personal expenses.

7. Personal information

7.1Personal information is used to administer the competition, verify eligibility, contact winners, fulfil prizes and maintain legal records. It must not be shared with a prize partner for unrelated marketing without a lawful basis and appropriate notice/consent.

8. General

8.1The promoter may disqualify fraud or abuse and may suspend or cancel a competition if required by law, security or circumstances outside reasonable control, provided consumers are treated fairly.

8.2These rules are governed by South African law and do not exclude rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
